Q: Why is my TRE not displaying Title and Artist information?
A: Open HyperTerminal on the TRE machine to verify your Automation system is outputting the data. If not then contact your automation vender for configuration.
A: Check your event mapping in the TRE Configuration Manager (trecfg.exe). This is the type of grouping set by your automation system. i.e.,. AudioVAULT is MUS, COM
A: Check your Automation Settings in the TRE Configuration Manager (trecfg.exe). Make sure TRE is configured for the correct IP Address and Port or Com port or File based on your Automation System.

A: Check TRE configuration for TagStation if you were using it, as TagStation system went offline 2018, the feature should be disabled.

Q: I am not getting Radio Text to display on my RDS receiver?
A: First you need to identify what RDS encoder TRE needs to communicate to, RDI-20, FMB-80, FMB-10, Inovonics. Then open the TRE Configuration Manager and check the RDS Encoder settings.
The interface needs to be set to UDP or Serial (COM1). If using UDP verify RDS Encoder’s IP Address and port settings. Refer to Encoder’s manual for configuration.
A: In TRE Configuration Manager under the RDS Encoder check the Max Len: value to make sure it is set correctly. Radio text has a max length of 64 characters. Depending on your RDS Encoder Radio
Text command dictates the Max Len: configuration. See Figure #1

Q: I am not getting PAD data on my HD channel?
A: Make sure that we can ping the Exporter or Importer.
A: Open the TRE Configuration Manager and verify the IBOC HD Radio settings. Make sure the Mode, IP Address, and port are configured correctly. See Figure #2

Q: My Generic Messages are not showing on my RDS Encoder or Radio?
A: First verify that you have a genmsg.txt is in your TRE-Station directory. Then open the TRE Configuration Manager (trecfg.exe) and check the Generics setting. Make sure the file path is correct to the genmsg.txt. If it only says genmsg.txt then setup is correct.
A: Open your genmsg.txt file, found in the TRE-Station directory. You need to verify that TRE is using the correct Radio Text command for your RDS encoder in the [Event Format] and [Generic Message Format] sections. See Figure #3

Q: My Dynamic PS Messages are not showing on my RDS Encoder or Radio?
A: First verify that you have a dpsmsg.txt is in your TRE-Station directory. Then open the TRE Configuration Manager (trecfg.exe) and check the Dynamic PS setting. Make sure it is check for Enable.
A: Make sure the file path is correct to the dpsmsg.txt. If it only says dpsmsg.txt then setup is correct.
A: The Prefix Count has to be the length of the Dynamic PS Command. See Figure #4
A: In the TRE-Station Directory open dpsmsg.txt. Depending on the type of RDS Encoder you have to set the Dynamic PS command in the [Event Format] and [Generic Message Format] sections.
